SUMMER CAMP

The Childcare Enrichment Program and Creative Adventures Camps includ

During summer camp, kids will get to have fun with learning, all while making new friends, swimming every week, eating fun and healthy snacks, making crafts, and staying physically active. We will also have a

number of exciting and engaging field trips, including visits to the Louisville Zoo, the Louisville Science Center, the Muhammad Ali Center, the Frazier Museum, Incredible Dave's and many more!e activities that transport our campers through time, space, imagination, creativity and community spirit. In the YMCA's efforts to combat summer learning loss, we want to engage your kids in ways that make learning fun.

SUMMER LEARNING

In partnership with the Louisville Free Public Library, your child's summer camp offers the Summer Reading Program, a program designed to encourage kids to read by finding books about subjects that specifically interest them. Kids have the opportunity to win prizes while reading age-appropriate material. Time for reading is provided daily at each camp and books are always available.

We will also have access to the school computer labs where Y staff is able to assist children in accessing their Success Maker and/or Study Island accounts. These programs offer kids a fun and interactive way to improve academic progress in areas such as reading and math but also keep children in the summer fun frame of mind.

MEALS AND SNACKS

Campers will need to bring a non-refrigerated sack lunch each day. The Y encourages healthy eating habits and we provide suggestions for nutritionally-balanced meals at the Summer Parent Orientation and Camp Kickoff event.

Many sites are a part of a federally subsidized food program (CACFP) and some field trips will provide lunch. If either of these instances pertain to your site, you will be notified. We provide morning and afternoon snacks.
