"Call to Action”-This week is to learn about our kids’ interests and discuss how they want to give back to the community for their end of summer community service project. This week might find us making our own capes, experimenting with lightning and bouncing off the walls at All About Kids!

"Heroes at Home”- This week is an emphasis on heroes in our households and families. This week we’ll make our own shields, conquer a laser maze, and learn about a local hero at the Muhammad Ali Center.

"Hidden Heroes”- This week the spotlight is on the hidden heroes of our community- plumbers, garbage men, mail carriers, & more- the people who help keep society moving! This week we might visit Louisville Waterworks or make a solar oven!

"Sidekicks Week (Animals)”- This week we’re thinking about our sidekicks- animals! Where would we be without them? We’ll visit the zoo, build butterfly houses, and talk with a vet!

"Creative Heroics (Art/Music)”- Heroes often require creativity, so that’s our focus this week! We’ll make our own guitars, create a storm with rain sticks, and check out what’s happening at the Speed Art Museum.

"Heroes in Training (Health/Wellness)”- Heroes need to keep themselves healthy and strong! This week we’ll learn what fuels a superhero, make our way through an obstacle course, and try our hand at yoga!

"Villainous Inventions (Science/Nature)”- This week will be full of experimentation as we learn what nature and science can cook up! This week we might check out the Kentucky Science Center or Mammoth Cave, make our own goo, and melt Skittles- for science, of course!

"Save the Day (Safety/Rescue)”- Not all heroes wear capes! Some wear helmets, badges, and scrubs! This week we’ll learn about the heroes who save lives on a daily basis. We’ll read about veterans, visit a firehouse, and practice our stop-drop-and-rolls!

"Heroes Go Green (Environment)”- One of the big ways we can make a difference as a hero is to protect our environment! This week we’ll learn how water purity is tested, visit a farm, and read about the adventures of a plastic bottle as it goes through the recycling process!

"Super Heroes in Action (Community Service Project)”
- It’s time to put everything we learned this summer to work and become heroes ourselves! This week we will complete the service project that we planned earlier in the summer. Depending on our kids’ interests, we might have a can food drive, pick up litter at a park, or volunteer at an animal rescue!
